We are now looking for a Housing Officer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Housing Officer, you will provide vital housing support, helping our tenants maintain their homes and successfully integrate into the community.
Working as part of our Housing and Income Team, you’ll play a key role in reducing voids, maximising rental income, and minimising arrears while ensuring our vulnerable refugee tenants receive the support they need to thrive.
You’ll deliver a needs-led service that promotes wellbeing, personal growth, and independence, empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
Additionally, you will:
- Assist in assessing potential tenants and finding them accommodation
- Help to manage property rental income, including any service charges
- Oversee estate management tasks, including settling new tenants, undertaking inspections and ensuring properties are clean and tidy
- Address complaints promptly and resolve where possible
- Help negotiate debt payments
What We’re Looking For
To be considered as a Housing Officer, you will need:
- Experience of working with asylum seekers or refugees in a voluntary or paid capacity
- Knowledge of Homelessness Legislation, particularly the 2002 Homelessness Act
- The ability to work under pressure and manage emotionally sensitive situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with service users who speak different languages
- Negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Empathy, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- A good standard of education commensurate with the role
