We are now looking for a Housing & Income Team Leader to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Housing & Income Team Leader, you will lead the delivery of high-quality housing management and income collection services across our housing portfolio.

Leading a team of Housing Officers and Assistants, you will manage income collection and recovery, maximise rental income and reduce arrears. You will oversee complex cases and support your team to deliver a responsive, consistent service that promotes tenancy sustainment.

You will also oversee housing management activities, ensuring properties and services meet statutory requirements and relevant policies and procedures. This will include maintaining high standards across lettings, voids, tenancy management, safeguarding and anti-social behaviour.

Additionally, you will:

- Implement appropriate debt recovery and enforcement measures
- Prepare legal notices and invoices and monitor payment arrangements
- Liaise with government agencies, local authorities and other external organisations
- Ensure referrals, needs assessments and risk assessments are completed
- Monitor property health and safety compliance and report repairs and maintenance

What We’re Looking For

To be considered as a Housing & Income Team Leader, you will need:

- At least two years’ experience within the social housing sector
- Experience of managing income collection services
- Demonstrable experience of working with refugees and asylum seekers
- An understanding of County Court and Magistrates’ Court processes
- Knowledge of legal processes for debt recovery
- Knowledge of welfare reform and its impact on housing providers and tenants
- Knowledge of housing legislation, including the Housing Act 1985
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent listening, negotiation, written communication and interpersonal skills
- A degree-level education or equivalent relevant training or experience
- A full, valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
