We are now looking for an Employment Specialist to join us on a full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week, for a one year fixed-term contract.

What You’ll Be Doing
As an Employment Specialist, you will provide tailored employment support to help ACH residents overcome barriers and progress towards sustainable employment and greater independence.
Managing a caseload, you will assess residents’ aspirations and support needs, develop individual progression plans and provide ongoing coaching, careers guidance and practical employability support.
Working closely with ACH teams and external partners, you will connect residents with suitable opportunities and build relationships with employers, recruitment agencies and training providers to create accessible pathways into work.
Additionally, you will:
- Deliver employability workshops and group sessions
- Organise recruitment events, job fairs and employer engagement activities
- Undertake outreach and community engagement activities
- Maintain accurate client records and progression evidence
- Produce reports, updates and case studies
- Ensure support meets safeguarding, equality, diversity and data protection requirements
What We’re Looking For
To be considered as an Employment Specialist, you will need:
- Experience of coaching and mentoring
- Experience of supporting clients into work, education and/or training
- Experience of facilitating group sessions and delivering lessons
- Experience of offering advice and guidance to service users
- Experience of building and maintaining relationships with employers, training providers, and support organisations
- Local knowledge of support networks, including specialist agencies providing services for refugees and job seekers in Birmingham
- Knowledge of the challenges and barriers that refugees and migrants face and ways to overcome these
- Knowledge and understanding of the welfare benefits system
- Good IT skills, including the ability to document client sessions and upload them onto CRM systems
